The stainless steel pleated filter cartridge is a form of detachable cylindrical filtration element designed according to international production standards.

The main material of the pleated filter cartridge is stainless steel, mainly made of grade 304, 316, and other higher grades including duplex stainless and other super alloy metals.

Just as its name suggests, the pleated wire mesh filters are constructed from a few layers of different densities of filtration woven wire mesh and fine wire cloths that have been folded back and forth repeatedly many times which permits very fine filtering with a great capacity for retaining dirt without requiring a correspondingly large amount of backpressure to be applied.

The pleated filter cartridges are generally composed of pleated woven wire mesh layers, rigid perforated metal cylinder core, custom-made machined stainless steel fitting parts including flanges, caps, male or female threads, and sometimes with an extra protection layer or reinforced ring belts in the outside of the folded mesh.

To ensure the filter elements are not constrained by the operational conditions of the adhesive and addictive ingredients as well as a good seal and tightness, the structure of the pleated wire mesh filter is always manufactured by full welding.

Plasma welding is required to join the pleats together to make sure it has a good seal and a nice, smooth surface.

TIG welding is used in the connection of the stainless steel fitting parts and the mesh to ensure the adapter is sufficiently robust and hermetically sealed.
